Description
The Director of Enrollment Management at Berwick Academy is responsible for the Academy’s enrollment in grades Pre-K through 12. The Director oversees student recruitment and retention, all enrollment functions at the School, and oversees a staff of three in the Admission Office. The successful candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills, be data-driven, and be a team player who is innovative, creative, and enjoys being challenged. This position relies on significant teamwork within the School and requires a person with strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills. The overall goal for the Director is to build on the Admission Office’s strengths, provide initiative and leadership, and implement strategies to ensure that the Office can meet its goals and challenges. The Director of Enrollment Management is a lead spokesperson at the School and represents Berwick Academy to all constituents, including students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff, and the local community. The Director of Enrollment Management reports directly to the Assistant Head of School for External Affairs and is a key member of the School’s Senior Administrative Team. The successful candidate will have at least five years of enrollment management experience. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and a Master’s degree is preferred. 

Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: 
  • Embrace the unique mission and values of Berwick Academy and understand the importance of cultural competency
  • Serve as an integral leader for the school community and participate fully in the daily life of the school
  • Oversee the entire enrollment process from recruitment of new students to re-enrollment
  • Work to enroll mission appropriate students of diverse backgrounds and meet the enrollment goals set by the Board of Trustees
  • Maintain statistical and trend data related to admission and enrollment and present present this data to the Administrative Team, Board of Trustees, and faculty and staff and ensure that changes and challenges in these trends are anticipated, understood, and addressed
  • Oversee data collection and retention to foster data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency in and oversight of the the School’s onBoard database platform and other online marketing tools and technologies utilized in recruitment and enrollment
  • Manage, evaluate, and oversee the professional development of the Admission Office
  • Lead the school in a campus-wide Admission effort
  • Manage the Admission Office budget
  • Oversee new student transition to division directors and support services
  • In collaboration with the Division Directors, create and execute a comprehensive retention plan
  • Maintain and encourage relationships with sending schools, counselors, and consultants
  • Lead the school in building its small residential student population
  • Enhance the school’s screening of student English proficiency in modestly growing its ELL population
  • In conjunction with the Director of Financial Aid, oversee the full financial aid, tuition remission, and scholarship programs
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications on all aspects of the marketing and social media plans
The Director of Enrollment Management extends himself/herself beyond the responsibilities of a job description when the need arises, and assists with all other duties as assigned.
