Berwick Academy is excited to welcome a licensed Day Camp Nurse (or a team of two part-time nurses) to support our vibrant and joyful summer community. This position is essential in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our day campers, who range in age from 4 to 18, across our beautiful 80+ acre campus.

About the Role
This is a day camp nurse position—there are no overnight responsibilities. You will provide on-site health care, medication administration, first aid, and health record oversight for campers and staff during the regular camp day. You'll serve as a key health advocate, supporting camper well-being in both proactive and responsive ways.

Camp Dates: June 16 – August 15, 2025
Camp Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (arrival at 8:30 AM on Mondays)
Note: Camp is in session on June 19 and July 4.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Deliver first aid and oversee safe medication administration
  • Maintain confidential camper health records and daily logs
  • Monitor camper health concerns and coordinate with families as needed
  • Assist in health screenings and assess medical histories upon arrival
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and regulation-compliant health center
  • Travel across campus via golf cart to provide timely support
  • Collaborate with the camp leadership team to review health policies and practices
  • Participate in staff orientation and mid-season check-ins
What We’re Looking For
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), licensed in Maine
  • Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or youth settings preferred
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
  • Excellent communication skills with children and adults
  • Organized, flexible, calm under pressure, and comfortable working independently
  • Willingness to drive a golf cart across campus as needed
Compensation & Benefits
  • This is an hourly paid position; the rate will be based on experience and qualifications.
  • Compensation may be adjusted depending on benefit access such as on-campus childcare and housing options.
  • Weekly hours are approximately 35 for full-time or can be divided for part-time coverage.
