Title: | Staff: Director of Auxiliary Programs |
---|---|
ID: | 1217 |
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Auxiliary Programs develops, implements, and oversees non-tuition, revenue-generating programs utilizing the resources of Berwick Academy in support of the School’s mission “to promote virtue and useful knowledge among the rising generations.” The Director will develop, market, and direct Berwick’s summer camps and after school care and enrichment programs, as well as, hire, supervise, and evaluate seasonal program managers and staff. The Director will also oversee the rental of Berwick Academy’s facilities throughout the year.
It is an exciting time to lead Berwick’s Auxiliary Program. As a key pillar in the ongoing strategic plan, The Courage to Climb, auxiliary programming has seen exponential growth over the past several years. The momentum of this work, extending the Berwick experience for our internal community, and partnering with and expanding our external community, has created an exciting opportunity for a new Director of the program.
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and should have three to five years of administrative leadership experience as well as experience working with children. They must have excellent written and oral communication skills and top-notch organizational skills. The ideal candidate will also have an entrepreneurial background, familiarity with marketing, and an enthusiasm for creating and guiding programming for school-aged children. Berwick Academy seeks candidates who will add to the racial, cultural, and gender diversity of our school community.
The responsibilities of the Director of Auxiliary Programs include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and overseeing sustainable, revenue-generating programs on Berwick Academy’s campus during the school year and summer.
- Managing, and enhancing after-school programs, summer academic programs, and summer camp programs.
- Managing all campus facility rentals.
- Hiring and supervising personnel who directly manage income-producing programs.
- Ensuring all auxiliary program staff have appropriate training, professional development, and support.
- Managing the annual Auxiliary Program and Facility Rental budgets.
- Assuring consistency and integrity in the annual and longer term financial operations of each program.
- Assessing the impact of each program, both financially and strategically, in collaboration with school leadership and employees, on the mission of Berwick Academy and its position in the marketplace.
- Identifying and coordinating partnerships for both auxiliary programming and rental opportunities for school facilities and grounds, this include, evolving policies, protocols, pricing, and procedures in coordination with other departments across campus.
- Producing marketing, social media, print, and catalogs in partnership with the Communications Office.
- Ensure all auxiliary programs are in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School and CFO.
