Position Summary
The Upper School Operations Coordinator serves as the central hub of the Upper School’s daily life. This individual ensures the division runs smoothly by managing attendance, coordinating faculty coverage, managing key projects and new initiatives, and serving as a primary point of contact for families. Beyond administrative logistics, this role is deeply integrated into the student experience through daily student engagement, coaching, afternoon (co-curricular) programming, and supporting the summer program.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and track daily attendance for all Upper School students and faculty.

Provide the first point of contact for families regarding Upper School policies, practices, and daily logistics.

Collaborate with the team to support logistics for Berwick’s new Afternoon Program, which includes sports teams, intramural teams, and non-athletic clubs.

Ensure clear, timely communication between school and home, which includes support in creating the Upper School Weekly.

Assist in the planning and execution of key divisional events (e.g., Orientation, Commencement, Awards Ceremonies).

Manage implementation of special projects and school initiatives.

Maintain division events calendar and communication needs related to events, and support multi-faceted communications strategies for Upper School sports teams.

Provide high-level administrative support to the Director of Upper School.

Collaborate with Upper School Deans and provide administrative support as needed.

Coordinate and support substitute teachers for planned and unplanned faculty absences.

Manage divisional records and data entry as needed.

During the summer months, assist the Summer@Berwick with program registration, family inquiries, some supervision, and daily logistics for summer camp operations.
Priority given to candidates who can support our athletic coaching needs in Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, Rowing, and/or Lacrosse. Athletics take place daily after the academic day generally between 3 and 5 pm.
