Overview

The Assistant Director of Communications reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing as part of an exciting, strategically focused and creative team responsible for a wide range of internal and external marketing and communications initiatives. This position relies on significant teamwork and collaboration and requires a professional with strong organizational skills and motivation. The successful candidate will have experience in and be passionate about content creation, graphic design, photography, videography, SEO/SEM, and other digital media.  

Required Education, Skills and Experience
A bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years experience in marketing/communications or a related field


Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Graphic Design
  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute a wide variety of original assets for print and digital applications including, but not limited to, website needs, collateral, PR initiatives, digital ads, mobile, social media channels, on-site events, campaigns, and the School’s magazine Berwick Today
  • Skilled at working with vendors to obtain quotes and oversee the production process from start to finish

• Social Media
  • Proven success as a digital marketer with strong experience using social media platforms
• Videography / Photography
  • Manage all aspects of project development, pre-production, production, and post, including shooting, editing, audio, and selection of music
  • Proficiency in video and photography operation and production with D-SLR cameras
  • Experience shooting a variety of styles of original content including headshots, group photos, sports/athletics, events, talking head, commercial-style shoots, explainer videos, and long-form videos
• Writing
  • Write, edit, and produce compelling print and online content

• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and video filming and editing is required
• Microsoft Office - Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required
• Proficiency in digital media/video editing software tools - Final Cut Pro is preferred
• Proficiency in automated email marketing systems is preferred
• Must be familiar with Mac OS platform
• Not required, but nice to have - Hootsuite, Asana, Google Suite
